I am really excited about some news I have to share with all you avid readers of my blog. As you may or may not know, over the past 4 years I have been ‘double jobbing’. By ‘double jobbing’, I mean I have been continuously burning the candle at both ends i.e. working part time as a Business Analyst for an IT company and part time as a photographer. At the start of my career as a photographer this was an easy arrangement to manage, but as time has went on it has become so much more difficult to strike a balance between my day job, my passion (photography) and most importantly, my family. Even after reducing my IT hours a year ago my photography workload increased significantly which has been both amazing and a little overwhelming at times.
This has however come with its sacrifices. Mainly family. To say that Caroline has been an understanding wife over the past few years as I have pursued my passion would be an understatement. From me spending every penny I earned on expensive gear to Caroline sitting on her own pretty much every night of the week as I worked on wedding and portraits, I will be forever grateful for the amount of time she has allowed me to invest in building my photography business.
Poppy and Heidi are growing so fast and these early years are so precious. Getting to spend so little time with them scares me that I am missing out on too much.
God has blessed me with everything that I have and I believe that now is the time for me to make some serious decisions about my future. So… it’s time take a leap of faith, pursue my passion and give some time back to my family, who I love dearly. Starting from the 1st December 2012, Geoff Telford Photography will be a full time self-employed operation. To say that I am excited would be an understatement!
So, what does it mean for you, my loyal customers!? Even with burning the candle at both ends, the quality of my work has never been compromised. It maybe just took a little longer to produce. So maybe you will see the end result a little sooner from now on!
Well, I think I have said enough. I have thoroughly appreciated your support over the past few years and I look forward to your continued support in the future.
Over the next couple of months I will be starting to take bookings again for portrait shoots in 2013. If this is something you would be interested in then please get in touch.
Also, if you know someone who has recently got engaged, then pass them my way if you please.
